Welcome to day 12 of my 30 days to sobriety.
Today was (again) content I am familiar with; it focused on the power of your subconscious mind.
Which is not always swimming with you.
I see my subconscious a bit like a super powerful beast, that is very obedient and has a photographic memory – but is not terribly smart.
So when you tell it “life is only fine with wine” – as I realised during yesterdays homework that I was telling myself – well the big obedient brute moves heaven and earth to get you wine. “Look Rachel a fridge, don’t you worry I’ll just take your over there, get a glass, nice, just want you asked for, you’re welcome”.
I was also pleased to be reminded that thriving in sobriety does not necessarily mean never drinking again. Was this my subconscious mind looking for drinking opportunities. I better work hard on re-educating it. “No, no mate I enjoy life sober, thanks anyway”
See you tomorrow.
